After taking your gas-powered equipment to hell and back year after year, the engine's eventually going to conk out. And when that day inevitably comes, it doesn't make sense to buy a whole new set-up, not when the only thing broken is the engine. Sure, you could get it repaired or try to fix it yourself, but that's a crap shoot at best. For the price, you should just replace the engine.
The Predator 212 cc, 7 HP OHV Horizontal Gas Engine is fierce on power and performance, but really easy on price, which explains its popularity with the go kart and mini bike crowd. That said, it's also gained a large following with those looking to replace the engines on their wood splitters, lawn mowers, roto-tillers, pumps, compressors, snow blowers, lawn vacuums, leaf vacuums, generators... you name it. I even saw one guy who put it on his wakeskate winch.
The Predator engine is also the "green" choice with its super-efficient, clean overhead shaft design, which passes Carb and EPA standards in all states (there's also a California-approved model!),and delivers a cooler performance and longer life. In short, the horizontal shaft makes this an ideal all-purpose replacement engine.
I mentioned go karts and mini bikes... a company that sells modded gas engines, NR Racing, offers a modded Predator 212 CC, suped up for competition and stickered at $799. Must be a daisy of an engine.
